Discomfort precedes Victory

Discomfort Precedes Victory!

I’m always on the lookout for inspiration, it’s like I’m magnetized to it. So, when I heard “Discomfort Precedes Victory” my ears pricked up and I thought “what!”? Actually, I heard it from a very special guy named Glen Carlson, the co-founder of Dent Global, their KPI (Key Person of Influence) accelerator program produces entrepreneurs that stand out, scale up and make a positive impact in the world. I am a KPI Alumni and it’s by far one of the best programs I have ever done as an entrepreneur, I highly recommend it.

Personal Growth Junkie

So, confession time, I’m a personal growth junkie, right? I love new ideas and stretching the boundaries of what is possible, a rebel at heart, I guess. It’s what I do and I love it and hearing Glen describe discomfort and how it leads to victory got me thinking about how I do what I do and where I came from as an individual. I realized I’ve never been one that’s let discomfort get in the way of what I want in life. I’ve always said to those around me and those who I mentor and every single client I’ve come into contact with, get comfortable with being uncomfortable because what’s on the other side of discomfort is amazing breakthrough stuff, is growth, is the thing that you’re looking for.

Get Comfortable with being Uncomfortable

But you’ve got to go through the hoops, you’ve got to go through the discomfort, nothing comes for free in life. Never forget that. And so, a lot of that goes back to my background when we migrated to Australia, I was five years old when we came to Australia and therefore, I had to learn and tackle a lot of things on my own without the help of my parents. They couldn’t speak English and therefore I got used to getting comfortable with discomfort early on in my life, very, very early on and learning to fight the battles for myself and it was part of my environment and I guess that’s where a lot of my grounding developed. But I’m here to tell you that there could be no truer words than getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Discomfort precedes Financial Confidence

So, if you are uncomfortable about getting your head around your money, your investing or your super remember money is simply a tool to get what you want in life. What you really want is to live a life of choice, to be able to choose right? To have the choice to live the way that you want, without compromise!

What is it that floats your boat? Going out for dinner, having holidays every year, guilt free spending, providing for your family, supporting your kids, having the freedom to do all the stuff that you love? There is a currency that goes with having this choice it’s called MONEY.

So, if you’re uncomfortable about learning the skills of money, I urge you to get comfortable with it. I know you’ve got this, you’ve overcome tougher things in life, this isn’t that tough you know, because without overcoming that boundary you can’t get to the other side. And do you know what’s waiting for you on the other side? Everything you’ve ever dreamed of, the freedom to be yourself, the freedom to live the way you want, the freedom to choose and to live the life that you deserve and you so deserve it.

So, get comfortable with being uncomfortable because there are incredible gifts at the end of that journey just waiting for you, all you have to do is take the first step, be courageous.
